Run with this one

26 February, 2009

It took a while and a lot of messing about but I've decided to go with a track plan based on the Wiscasset Waterfront trackage. Last month I did an entry about it and here's what I've ended up with.

My Second take on Wiscasset

There is a lot of room for stuff even though it's only 9 feet by about 18 inches. An extra switch has been added and I've decided to make it a small branchline terminal with a turntable for rod locos (I really do wanna build my 2-4-0) and the like. The left end will have a small fiddle track/yard that will swing up when in use.

One aspect of this is still undecided and that is how it will be displayed. My thinking is an open layout. No background and could be viewed from either side. I like the idea of something open - mainly because it's "not the usual thing".

Busy month

19 February, 2009

It's not stopped so far this month. My daughter's move and various people needing things, means I haven't had a chance to anything on the layout front. A client wanted to brand his software so that's kept me occupied, then he wanted a big banner for his stand at an exhibition. Wonder what'll be next.

Mo own software projects are on hold until the brand and banner are sorted so quite a few things are sitting on the backburner - well at least I'm not bored.

A little typo and....

02 February, 2009

It appears I typed in a setting wrong on my blog and any comments didn't work right. The word mail got spelled mial and so the thing bombed out. Well it would, wouldn't it.

Work on the layout has ground to a halt while I do work stuff and am in the middle of a programming project. Also, I've become a grandfather and been involved on that side of things. Plus - Grandpa has to help grandson's Dad and Mum (my daughter) move from London out into Kent as well.

Hey it kind of snowed today - just a little bit, only 6 inches or so, But here in London it might as well be 6 feet - the entire place has all but shut down. They're not quite sure what to do with snow here.
