"Start small"

Start small

02 February, 2010

As time is a bit more available, I'm looking at how I am going to be building my main layout. First thing will be to develop the idea on a small module first. A micro comes to mind, where I can test out the construction concepts (and make use of some of that Peco stuff instead of throwing it in the bin).

I'll play around with a few trackplans and see which one comes out on top. Putting together a micro layout means having to abandon traditional layout conceptualizing and rethinking "the small". So watch this space while stuff begins to form and flow.

Glad it was of help Don. Trust it's running on your layout now.

Just a quick note of appreciation for your article on disassembling the Porter. Well written, very clear directions. Solved my problems. My engine was a basket case from a flea market (no instructions, partially disassembled, etc., and priced accordingly).

Thanks for your help.
