Getting it noticed
11 February, 2010
One of the things with blogs, especially if your write your own software, is getting it listed on search engines etc. I've been using a couple of Perl scripts, both of which had some problems. So I'm trying out a new one.
While I can design stuff and be creative on the visual side of things, programming it takes me a while. It's not natural to me, there's quite a bit of trial and error. I've done one test of the new script to let a search engine know I've done a post and am giving it another go on this site.

Start small
02 February, 2010
As time is a bit more available, I'm looking at how I am going to be building my main layout. First thing will be to develop the idea on a small module first. A micro comes to mind, where I can test out the construction concepts (and make use of some of that Peco stuff instead of throwing it in the bin).
I'll play around with a few trackplans and see which one comes out on top. Putting together a micro layout means having to abandon traditional layout conceptualizing and rethinking "the small". So watch this space while stuff begins to form and flow.
